The UTX-70 (30% smaller than the standard Ultratech) is a dual action mini out the front automatic knife from Microtech that’s one of the most friendly for everyday carry. The diminutive size is perfect for watch pocket or even key ring carry. This Signature Series version has a black anodized aluminum frame, carbon fiber top, Bronze Apocalyptic M390 Tanto blade and matching hardware.

Blade: Equipped with a bronze PVD coating, the single edge Tanto blade has a razor sharp plain cutting edge with handsome satin flats and spine with a blasted and tumbled Apocalyptic finish on the grinds. Double action automatic operation is fast, smooth, and reliable. Move the thumb slide up to deploy and down to retract. An internal spring remains at rest in both the open and closed position to reduce wear.

Handle: The smooth, black hard anodized 6061-T6 aluminum frame and carbon fiber top have rounded edges, creating a comfortable feel in-hand and smooth pocket transition. Smaller and thinner than other Microtech OTF autos, the UTX-70 has no jimping for a cleaner look perfect for gentleman’s carry. Apocalyptic bronze proprietary hardware, glass breaker end and pocket clip with individual serial number/date of production round out construction.

Bohler M390: Bohler M390 (analog to CPM-20CV and CTS-204P) is a premium powder metallurgy (PM) stainless steel with high carbide content for some of the highest edge retention and corrosion resistance, while being relatively easy to sharpen. A popular choice for high-end production and custom knives. Relatively high carbide volume and coarse microstructure gives this steel lower toughness.
